Walworth County ARC Banquet-Community news!
This last Saturday, I was very excited to be invited to attend this years
Walworth County ARC Women's Luncheon Banquet at the Abbey in Fontana as a guest with my Aunt Chellie, My cousins: Laura, Leslie & Jennifer & our Nana Gifford. It was a wonderful luncheon with many raffle prizes & door prizes with proceeds going towards fundraising for the ARC. I was also very happy to donate a Kasey K. Photo Portrait Session & Print Package to this great cause & events ticket raffle!!!!
What is the ARC? Well, I just recently learned more about it and the many wonderful things it does in our Walworth County Community & I wanted to share this news with you! :)
The Walworth County ARC is a non-profit, non-political, no-sectarian organization comprised of parents, teachers, professionals and friends joined to:
PROMOTE the general welfare of the cognitively and developmentally disabled.
FOSTER the development of programs and research.
ADVOCATES and GUARDIANS for the Cognitively and developmentally disabled
ADVISE and support parents in their efforts and activities
DEVELOP public understanding and acceptance.
SERVE locally as a clearinghouse for gathering and giving out information.
HELP these individuals become useful productive citizens.
SOLICIT and receive funds for the accomplishment of the above purposes.

Some of the Organizations & Activities the ARC Helps:
*Supports the Summer School Program at Lakeland School in Elkhorn.
*Give Financial Assistance and support for VIP Services, Inc.
*They Hold an informational fair booth at the Walworth County Fair.
*Provide Wheelchair Rental at the Walworth County Fair.
*They Provide Memorial & Scholarship Funds
*Lakeland School Reunions
*Organize Fundraisers throughout the year
*Support Walworth County Special Olympics
*Hold the Women's Luncheon amongst many other Special Projects.

I was very pleased to be asked to come back next year & help out again by donating to the ARC. The Women's luncheon was beautiful & a wonderful time & I was also very happy to meet Mrs. Cathy Duesterbeck who is one of the board members of the Walworth County ARC! I look forward to helping out more in the future!
